Being a teacher is mostly fun. Why mostly? Because it is not, sometimes. There are abundant loads of work to do. Those will take a lot of your energy, not only at school but also when you're at home. It doesn't count the duty of creating lesson plans and the demands of making learning fun in the classroom; nor the inevitable school rules and obligations. Despite those not-fun-things, there are always the ones that might make you love your being a teacher.
#1 You'll automatically upgrade yourself
When you're a teacher, you must be ready for any question or request from your students. Believe me, there is going to be tons of them. Even if you don't know about it at all, you must give an answer. At least you'll promise your students to find the answer and tell them later.
This way, you automatically upgrade your knowledge. If you have known about it before but you forgot, then the question or request will refresh your memory.
Another possible case is when you cannot use the same method to teach certain subject or topic to different students. Of course you need to go search and try new methods; meaning you learn new things and get yourself upgraded. It's good, isn't it?
#2 Periodically meet new people
As year changes, your students will change, too. There will be new faces to deal with; surely with various characteristics you might not have taken care at previous time. Although meeting new students will probably bring butterflies in your stomach, sometimes, but it is always fun as well as challenging to get to know and get along with them.
#3 Experience hilarious moments
Students are so creative that sometimes they do something silly that makes the whole class laugh, including the teacher. If you teach kids, there will be even more laughter to share, due to their innocent nature of behavior.
Being able to laugh together with your students will not only be fun, but it can also mark you as one of their favorite teachers.
#4 Getting love from the students
I know that getting something from students is supposed to be the last thing teachers should expect from their students. However, students love and pay attention to their teacher. To show it, they might give you a surprise, such as cake on your birthday, flowers and touching greeting card in Teacher's Day, or even just simple thing like snack or beverages; things because of which you feel appreciated.
#5 Seeing the students change to be better
There won't be better feeling than seeing your students become better each and everyday, especially when you have done everything you can to help them. This kind of feeling is more like satisfaction than pride. Being a witness for their success is also another joyous feeling that you might feel, even when they are no longer your students.
These things are only some things you might love from being a teacher. It is possible that you will find a lot more when you already enjoy your time of being someone that is called t.e.a.c.h.e.r.
